Juniper School principal Lucy Mayor, second from right, accepts a cheque from 100 Women Who Care Thompson for the school’s snack program Jan. 12. The approximately 60 members of 100 Women Who Care, each of whom contributes $100 for each of four donations made through the year, voted Juniper as the winning recipient at their December meeting.

Juniper School has had snack and breakfast programs for about 10 years  but the COVID-19 pandemic has made it more difficult to get funding over the past two years, which forced the school to cut back to providing snacks only once a week, down from their usual three. The donation will help the snack program return to its previous three times per week frequency, Mayor says.
