Five people were taken into custody in Norway House June 7 after police received reports about people having a gun pointed at them.

The initial reports about the gun-pointing were received by Norway House RCMP around 5 a.m. Tuesday and responding officers were flagged down by one of the victims, who provided a description of the vehicle the suspects were in.

A vehicle matching the description was spotted speeding away from the area and it came to a stop in front of a residence As police pulled in behind it, several suspects fled on foot into the residence and the nearby bush,

RCMP set up a roadblock on Highway 373 due to the serious nature of the incident and secured the area around the residence. Three female suspects soon exited the home and were taken into custody.

After obtaining further information, officers attended two other homes and took two males into custody with the aid of the North District Containment Team, Police Dog Services and the Emergency Response Team.

Investigation of the June 7 incidents continues and a 26-year-old male remains in custody with charges pending, police say.
