Five guns, body armour, 172 grams of cocaine seized by Thompson RCMP

One man and three women face drug and firearms charges.

A loaded handgun, four modified shotguns, body armour, cocaine and cash were seized by Thompson RCMP during a Nov. 19 arrest and residence search.

Thompson RCMP seized five guns, ammunition and body armour, as well as drugs, on Nov. 19.

A 33-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were arrested outside an Ashberry Place residence as a result of an ongoing drug trafficking investigation.

The man was found to be carrying a loaded handgun, approximately 172 grams of cocaine and more than $16,00o cash and was also wearing body armour. 

While executing a search warrant at the man’s Ashberry Place residence, officers seized four modified shotguns, ammunition, additional body armour and drug trafficking paraphernalia. A 56-year-old woman and a 49-year-old woman were arrested at the residence.

Michael Jonathan Nicholas was remanded into custody on numerous drug and gun-related charges pending a Nov. 21 court appearance.

The three women were released until court appearances scheduled for Jan. 20 when they will face drug and gun-related charges.
