Firearms charges laid in Gods Lake Narrows

Gods Lake Narrows RCMP arrested two people on gun-related charges while responding to a report of an assault on May 23.

Police were called to a residence around 5:30 p.m. Monday after receiving a call about an assault with a weapon and someone uttering threats. They located an adult female with minor injuries and arrested a man and a woman. 

While searching the home, police seized 11 firearms as well as ammunition.

A 29-year-old woman faces charges of assault with a weapon, uttering threats, unauthorized possession of a firearm and two counts of unsafe firearm storage.

A 38-year-old man faces charges of unauthorized firearm possession and two counts of unsafe firearm storage.

Gods Lake Narrows RCMP continue to investigate.
