Cross Lake man dies in collision 25 kilometres south of Thompson

The emergency services personnel and RCMP responded to the accident, which happened at about 5:20 p.m., on Highway 6, approximately 25 kilometres south of the City of Thompson.

A southbound pickup truck had crossed over into the northbound lane, colliding with a northbound semi tractor-trailer. The driver of the southbound pickup truck, who has been identified as 24-year-old Tyler Thomas McIvor of Cross Lake, the lone occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi tractor-trailer unit, from Winnipeg, was not injured.

Thompson RCMP are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
