This crash in Surrey was very visible and a bit unusual, leading to some people taking photos and video of it as they drove by.

Folks trying to get video or photos of the results of a car crash in Surrey this weekend may be regretting that choice.

The unusual accident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 8. While five vehicles were involved, what caught people's eyes were two cars in particular, as one had someone become wedged underneath the other, meaning the rear of the front vehicle ended up towering above the accident scene.

Luckily no one was seriously injured, but it made for a very visible and somewhat unusual sight and drew the attention of drivers passing by.

Some of those drivers decided to go a step further, according to the Surrey RCMP.

"While officers were on scene dealing with the collision multiple drivers travelling the opposite direction were using their phones to film/photograph the collision," states Cpl. Vanessa Munn in an email to V.I.A. "Trying to capture a video/photo of a collision while driving is completely unacceptable and increases the risk to everyone."

Munn notes four drivers unrelated to the collision were ticketed for distracted driving at the scene.
