15-year-old charged with murder in connection to June 5 stabbing death in Thompson

A 15-year-old male is charged with second-degree murder after a fatal stabbing in Thompson June 5.

A 15-year-old male from Thompson has been charged with second-degree murder in the June 5 stabbing death of a 43-year-old man from Winnipeg, police say.

Thompson RCMP were called to a stabbing on Public Road in downtown Thompson just after midnight Sunday, according to a June 7 RCMP press release.

Responding officers found the 43-year-old at the scene with life-threatening injuries. He was transported to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The suspect was arrested and charged and has been remanded into custody pending a court appearance in Thompson scheduled for June 9.

Thompson RCMP, RCMP Major Crime Services and RCMP Forensic Identification Services continue to investigate.
