12-year-old boy in Norway House stabbed by intruder while sleeping

Police believe assailant broke into victim's home around 2:30 a.m., then fled on foot.

A 12-year-old boy in Norway House was stabbed by an intruder while sleeping Sept. 19, RCMP say.

A 12-year-old boy was stabbed in his own home in Norway House around 2:30 a.m. Sept. 19, RCMP say.

Police were called to the residence where the attack occurred and told that the boy had been stabbed while he was asleep in his bed. RCMP believe the attacker broke into the home and stabbed the boy then fled on foot. No witnesses saw the suspect entering or leaving.

The boy was taken to hospital in Norway House and then flown to Winnipeg for further treatment. He has since been released and is now at home recovering.
