The 2018 Thompson Festival of the Arts kicked off at the Letkemann Theatre on April 5 with a showcase of local student musicians who specialize in stringed instruments and the piano.

Renowned musician Steven Tsitsos oversaw this portion of the festival, and provided each participant with a lengthy post-performance critique to help develop their skills moving forward.

Similar to previous years, the 2018 Festival of the Arts will continue well into the month of May and will highlight a variety of different artistic disciplines, including: dance (April 6-7), vocal/choral/speech (May 2-4) and visual arts (May 14-18).

Not only will the top participants from each category get the chance to win awards and scholarships, but they will also close out this two-month affair with highlights concerts May 29-30.
