They're back. "They're" being monthly Saturday night double features offered by Reel North Film Festival, in partnership with the Thompson Public Library, in the basement Bijou Room of the library.

This Saturday - Oct. 23 - features Moscow/Belgium at 7 p.m. followed by Precious at 9 p.m. This marks the kick-off of the fourth season year for Saturday night double features.

Season three wrapped up last April 10 with Ruba Nadda's Cairo Time, starring Patricia Clarkson as Juliette Grant, a magazine editor who travels to Cairo to meet her husband, Mark (Tom McCamus), a United Nations official working in Gaza, for a three-week vacation. When he is unavoidably delayed, he sends his friend Tareq (Alexander Siddig), who had been his security officer for many years, to escort her throughout the beautiful and exotic city.

In Christophe van Rompaey's 2008 Flemish movie Moscow/Belgium (with English subtitles). Matty is a 41-year old troubled married woman. Or, as she puts it, her husband is going through a midlife crisis, her oldest daughter is in puberty, her youngest daughter thinks she's in puberty and her son can't find his way into puberty. And, after an accident when leaving the parking lot of the local supermarket, her car needs a repair. To her surprise and disbelief, the 29-year old driver whose truck she hits, takes an interest in her.
