The weekend portion of Nickel Days, Thompson's annual summer fair, kicked off on June 22 with a parade along Thompson Drive and Cree Road, which were lined with dozens of candy-grabbing kids and older spectators. Members of Thompson's Fire and Emergency Services department led the way, followed closely by Nickel Days mascot L'il Nick.
