There will something old and something new about the Manitoba Rural Northern Juried Art Show this year.

Just as it has in previous years, the show will feature the works of artists from all over Manitoba outside of Winnipeg. Altogether there are 56 artists from six regions of Manitoba represented, including Jasyn Lucas of Thompson along with Miriam Jakal and Sandra Cook of Churchill in the 12-entrant northern division.

The online gallery at artgallery.manitobaartsnetwork.ca replaces the Manitoba Arts Network’s cancelled Manitoba Showcase 2020 and offers art lovers access to the submitted artworks anytime. Some are also available to purchase.

In addition, the exhibited artworks, which include paintings, drawings, photographs, sculptures, ceramics, mixed media and textiles, can be voted upon via the website from today until Oct. 20. Voter’s choice awards based on how many online votes each entry got will be announced at the show’s Zoom launch party Oct. 22.
