First-time contestant wins Thompson’s Got Vocal Talent competition

CHTM radio host Robyn Thomson took her voice from the airwaves to the main stage of Nickel Days June 23 for the 2019 Thompson’s Got Vocal Talent contest.

CHTM radio host Robyn Thomson took her voice from the airwaves to the main stage of Nickel Days June 23 for the 2019 Thompson’s Got Vocal Talent contest.

Thomson impressed the judges with her rendition of “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz and “You and Me” by You+Me to lay claim to first place and a prize of $500.

The rest of the contest’s top five included Andria Stephens (fifth), Brendan Rhodes (fourth), Olivia McLeod (third) and Richard Obierna (second).

The judges evaluated each participant based on their musicianship, stage presence, confidence and attention to musical technicality.
