Ten skill development gymnasts from the Thompson Tumblers Gymnastics Club competed on April 16 in the “Swing Into Spring” competition held at the Thompson Regional Community Centre.
Gymnasts competing were Sadie Frost, Amy DeAmicis, Callie Mead, Michaela Roeckenwagner, Ava White, Cooper Timmons, Chloe Halcrow, Kayliegh O’Handley, Hannah Ricketts-Slack and Kamryn Horvath all at the beginner level.
The beginner level in the regional stream competes for a gold, silver or bronze placing on each apparatus and all around. The four apparatus they compete on are vault, uneven bars, balance beam and floor exercise. These gymnasts have been training since the beginning of the season strengthening their skills and practising their routines.
Competing in this meet is fun and a chance to show off their skills they have learnt over the past season to their parents, family and friends in a competition environment that this level does not normally travel out of town for.
Their results are a sign of success for these gymnasts. Their coaches Eloria Gaudet, Hailey Lychuk and Hillary Stratton are very proud of their achievements.
