Skate Thompson caps off season with success in Stony Mountain

Twelve skaters from Skate Thompson competed at the Stony on Ice “Spring Fling” in Stony Mountain April 1-3. Skaters achieved ribbons and medals and skating personal best in all skating events.

Twelve skaters from Skate Thompson competed at the Stony on Ice “Spring Fling” in Stony Mountain April 1-3. Skaters achieved ribbons and medals and skating personal best in all skating events. Megan Szabo competed in Gold Free Skate and Gold Spins, Open Improv and Silver Interpretative. Madyson Caldwell competed in Senior Bronze Free Skate, Junior Silver Spins, Open Improv and Silver Interpretative. Kassia Wolanski McGirr and Taylor Chartrand competed in STAR 5 Free Skate, STAR 5 Spins, STAR 5 Elements, STAR 5 Improv and Kassia also competed in Bronze Interpretative. Hailey Fudge competed in STAR 3 Free Skate, STAR 3 Spins, STAR 3 Elements, STAR 3 Improv and Introductory Interpretative. Avery Lagimodiere, Jessica Smud, Kaitlyn Krentz, Ava White and Sydney Power competed in STAR 2 Free Skate, STAR 2 Spins, STAR 2 Elements, STAR 2 Improv and STAR 2 Team Event. Levi White was Stage 5 and Jaxon Power was Stage 4 in the CANSkate Element Event. Congratulations to all the skaters on having amazing skates! 

Skate Thompson had their final test day April 9 at the C.A. Nesbitt Arena. Skaters tested in Gold and Senior Silver Free Skate Tests, Senior Bronze and Preliminary Elements, Interpretative programs tested were Silver, Bronze and Introductory, with many dance tests including paso doble, European waltz, swing, baby blues, canasta tango and Dutch waltz.
