A 21-year-old is charged with second-degree murder after a 51-year-old woman died following an assault in Thompson March 26.

Thompson RCMP were called to a residence around 10:30 p.m. Monday, where they found the female and a 39-year-old man with injuries. Both were taken to Thompson General Hospital, where the woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The male victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening.

Conan Lewis, 21, was arrested at the scene and remanded into custody pending a scheduled court appearance March 29. Police say he and the deceased woman knew each other.
