Give input on provincial budget in Thompson Oct. 24

Provincial Finance Minister Cameron Friesen will be in Thompson Oct. 24 for a public pre-budget consultation at the Thompson Regional Community Centre from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Provincial Finance Minister Cameron Friesen will be in Thompson Oct. 24 for a public pre-budget consultation at the Thompson Regional Community Centre from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The finance minister is hosting consultations in various communities around the province to give Manitobans the opportunity to offer suggestions and input on the 2017 provincial budget.

“Our new Manitoba government is ensuring that residents of the Thompson constituency and other areas of the north, like people across the province, are given a say in the important financial decisions that affect them and their families,” said Thompson MLA Kelly Bindle. “Indigenous organizations, businesses, non-profit agencies and individual citizens are encouraged to present ideas for growth opportunities, economic development in the north and building a brighter future for Manitoba.”

Those who are unable to attend the public consultation can still provide input via www.YourProvinceYourPlan.ca, an interactive website that allows users to build their own provincial budgets on their computers and smartphones. The government encourages those who use the website to use social media to encourage friends and family to do so as well.
