The death of a man found injured in the parking lot of Thompson’s Burntwood Hotel in the early hours of April 21 is being investigated as a homicide. Thompson RCMP were called to the scene around 1 a.m.

The death of a man found injured in the parking lot of Thompson’s Burntwood Hotel in the early hours of April 21 is being investigated as a homicide.

Thompson RCMP were called to the scene around 1 a.m. Saturday and discovered the 35-year-old man, who was transported to Thompson General Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The cause of death has not been disclosed but police said in a press release that it was believed to be an isolated incident and that there are no public safety concerns arising from it.

RCMP Major Crime Services and the Forensic Identification Section are assisting the continuing investigation.
