A 17-year-old Thompson male was charged with second-degree murder in the May 16 death of a 28-year-old in Shamattawa.
Shamattawa RCMP were called to a residence where an aggravated assault involving two males had been reported at around 6:20 p.m. Tuesday. The 28-year-old was transported to the nursing station where he later died of his injuries.
The youth, who can't be identified under the terms of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, was remanded in custody and was scheduled to appear in provincial court in Thompson May 18.
Shamattawa RCMP continue to investigate with assistance from RCMP Major Crime Services and the Forensic Identification Section.
