A man and a woman from Norway House were charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and other offences Nov. 27after Ashern RCMP pulled them over headed south on Highway 6.
Police stopped a vehicle being driven erratically south of Ashern around 8:15 a.m. and found that the driver was intoxicated. Investigation uncovered more than 110 grams of marijuana as well as $12,000 cash in the vehicle.
The 22-year-old male driver was charged with impaired driving, driving without a valid licence and possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. The female passenger, also 22, was charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking.
Both were released and are due to appear in Ashern provincial court on Jan. 14.
