Forward Drake Bodie of Thompson was assigned to the Waywayseecappo Wolverines of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League on Sept. 25 by the WHL’s Saskatoon Blades, with whom he played one regular season game after making the 2012-13 roster out of training camp.
The 17-year-old was held pointless in this his only regular season appearance with the Blades, being held off the scoresheet against the Prince Albert Raiders on Sept. 29. He played four exhibition games for the team in preseason.
In 2011-12, Bodie appeared in two regular season games with Saskatoon, who selected him in the seventh round of the 2010 WHL bantam draft.
Bodie had one assist in his first game with the Wolverines, a 4-3 loss to the Swan Valley Stampeders on Sept. 29, helping to set up Brett Lafond’s third period marker that drew the Wolverines within two goals of the Stamps. He was held pointless in his second match with the team, a 6-4 win over the Neepawa Natives the following night.
