QUESTION OF THE WEEK

  • Forest fires are a fact of life in Northern Manitoba, although the number and severity vary year to year. How prepared do you feel you are to evacuate quickly if the need arose under a disaster management plan scenario?
  • Poorly prepared. I’d be running around like a chicken with its head cut off. I know better but I’m complacent

Paulic notches second W

Thompson goaltender Justin Paulic picked up his second win in three starts for the WHL’s Moose Jaw Warriors on Sept. 19 in Moose Jaw, turning aside 18 shots by the Brandon Wheat Kings en route to a 6-1 Warriors win.

Paulic’s teammates took pressure off the rookie netminder with three goals in the game’s first minute and were ahead 4-0 by the time the Wheat Kings’ Eric Roy beat Paulic on a power play just before the midway point of the game.

Paulic’s first win came in the Warriors’ first game of the season on Sept. 21, a 4-3 overtime win at home over the Swift Current Broncos. His second start was less memorable, ending up as a 7-1 home win for the Broncos after Paulic gave up five goals on 19 shots before being pulled in favour of Daniel Wapple.
