Norway House and Yorkboat Sluggers among winners at Slo-Pitch National qualifier

The Norway House Replacements, Thompson Inn Blazers and Boogaloss were the men's division winners of the Slo-Pitch National qualifying tournament held in Thompson Sept. 7-9, while the women's titles were claimed by the Yorkboat Sluggers, Beaver Skins and Bankside Va Jay-Jays.

"This tournament would not have been possible without the support of many local business sponsors and helping hands in preparing for the tournament and over the weekend," said Angie Paveley, giving special thanks to all the businesses and organizations that pitched in, as well as to the umpires – Martin, Blair, Pat, Anne, Chris and Natasha – and to the tournament organizers Jeff Anderson, Brigitte Harding and Stacy Kennedy as well as to Whoa We Wa and friends for helping to run the barbecue and beer gardens.
