A Thompson on-duty taxi driver was arrested for impaired driving on Aug. 26, thanks to a call to RID 911.
A witness observed the taxi driver leaving a liquor vendor with a beer while being reportedly intoxicated. The witness utilized the Thompson RID 911 program and reported the taxi driver.
The Thompson RCMP immediately sent out patrols that located he vehicle and driver on Churchill Drive after he had dropped off two fares.
A subsequent investigation was conducted and resulted in the arrest of the 46-year-old Thompson resident.
The driver is facing charges of Impaired Driving and Driver over .08 blood-alcohol content (BAC). He was released on a Promise to Appear in Court on Oct. 19, 2012.
