This black bear was spotted behind Assiniboine Place in Eastwood on the morning of Aug. 16. The city issued a public service announcement on Aug. 23 indicating that sightings had been made on the city's east side from the Addictions Foundation of Manitoba building to behind Waterloo Avenue. Manitoba Conservation had caught one bear and was attempting to catch a second. Eastwood residents are advised to ensure all garbage is put away properly and to clean barbecues thoroughly. Bear sightings can be reported to 1-800-782-0076.
