QUESTION OF THE WEEK

  • Forest fires are a fact of life in Northern Manitoba, although the number and severity vary year to year. How prepared do you feel you are to evacuate quickly if the need arose under a disaster management plan scenario?
  • Poorly prepared. I’d be running around like a chicken with its head cut off. I know better but I’m complacent

Chilliwack rocks Nickel Days

If the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word “Chilliwack” is a city in British Columbia and not a Canadian rock band, maybe you missed the 1970s or it is all a bit of a haze looking back some 35 years later. Chilliwack (from Vancouver, actually) is fronted by guitarist and vocalist Bill Henderson. Their five biggest songs were "My Girl (Gone Gone Gone)," "I Believe," “Whatcha Gonna Do," "Fly At Night" and "Lonesome Mary.” Take a listen and look here at Thompson Citizen reporter Matt's Durnan's video footage from Chilliwack last Saturday night as they headlined the Nickel Days weekend concert June 23 at the refurbished Thompson Regional Community Centre.
