The Norway House Nikes won all four of their games to walk away as the champions of Thompson's first slo-pitch tournament of the season, a one-day affair played June 9 at the recreation centre field.

The Nikes defeated the Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies in the final to claim the tournament title, after earlier beating the Jays in the semifinal. The Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies beat the Blazers in the other semifinal.

The Blazers defeated the Jays in the consolation final to take third place.

Nine teams took part in the tournament, including the NCN Rampage, who lost to the Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies in the first round of the playoffs, and the Bandits, who were 2-0 in the round robin but lost to the Jays in their first playoff match.

The Blazers finished at the top of pool A through the round robin, beating the Outlaws and the Jays. The Nikes were the top team in pool B with wins over the Rampage and the Timberwolves. The Fire Breathing Rubber Duckies were second in pool C with just one win over the Blue Bandits before winning their first two playoff games.

Murray Ettawacappo of Norway House won the men's home run derby, while Mary Saunders, also of Norway House, was the women's winner. Both walked away with a new bat and half the entry money. The men's bat was donated by ET Blades while the women's was donated by Preston Muswagon.
