HALIFAX - Health-care workers employed with eight district health authorities outside of Halifax have voted 91 per cent in favour of a new contract.
The workers are represented by the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union.
They work in public health, continuing care and addiction services.
The deal covers a two-year term from April 1, 2010 to March 31, 2012.
The union says the workers will get a one per cent wage increase in each year of the deal.
The agreement also improves several provisions including meal and retention allowances, shift premiums and vacation entitlements.
