QUESTION OF THE WEEK

  • Forest fires are a fact of life in Northern Manitoba, although the number and severity vary year to year. How prepared do you feel you are to evacuate quickly if the need arose under a disaster management plan scenario?
  • Poorly prepared. I’d be running around like a chicken with its head cut off. I know better but I’m complacent

Pukatawagan RCMP issued a request for public assistance locating the two suspects on May 25, advising that both should be considered violent due to the nature of the charges they faced and that they were known to visit Thompson and Leaf Rapids.

Located about 210 kilometres north of The Pas and 820 kilometres north of Winnipeg, Pukatwagan is accessible only by plane and train except in winter when it is connected by a winter road. It has a population of approximately 1,500 people.
