Congratulations to the Thompson Super Strikers youth bowling team. April 14 saw the team at Polo Park Bowling Lanes in Winnipeg. The team placed first in the mixed team category, beating out 18 adult teams. One bowler placed first and a second bowler placed second in the male 99-and-under division. A third bowler placed second in the female 99-and-under division. The Super Strikers team consists of players eight to 15 years od age, so they did an outstanding job!

Congratulations to the Thompson Stars adult bowling team who placed third in the mixed division. They also received a second-place ribbon in the female 100-109 category and a first and a third in the male 130-and-over category.

Both clubs bowl out of N.C. Crossroads Lanes. We would like to thank Nick and his staff for their support and encouragement. The youth team bowls Tuesday evenings under the direction of head coach Cindy Billiaert and junior coach Gary. The adult team bowls Wednesday evenings under the direction of head coach Sharon Smith and coach Kevin Suave.

The clubs would like to thank the many volunteers who assist on a regular basis: Trena Swallow, Marilia Marques, Tony Marques, Adelia Filipe and Amanda Bassett.

Thompson has a swim team as well which swims on Mondays and Thursdays under the direction of head coach Lindsay Horton and coach Julia Rowsell. We would also like to thank the volunteers that assist with this program, Marilia Marques and Marlene Enberg.
