RCMP staged two separate marijuana raids April 28 and April 30 in Cross Lake and Lynn Lake.

Most recently, Lynn Lake RCMP seized just under a pound of marijuana, along with cash and drug paraphernalia on April 30 from a Lynn Lake residence.

The estimated street value of the marijuana seized is around $8,000.

A 27-year old male and a 19-year old female who are both residents of Lynn Lake were arrested for possession for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, and were released on a promise to appear in provincial court in Lynn Lake May 28.

On April 28 at approximately 8:45 pm, Cross Lake RCMP stopped a black Dodge Charger on Highway 374, south of Cross Lake.

An investigation of the vehicle revealed that the two occupants of the vehicle were in possession of approximately 112 grams of marijuana.

The driver, a 28-year old man, and the passenger, a 22-year old female, both of whom are from Cross Lake, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance.

The two have since been released and are scheduled to appear in provincial court June 12 in Cross Lake.
