Women of Distinction: ‘We don't do it to be honoured'

To the Editor:

I want to take the time to thank the YWCA of Thompson for sponsoring the Woman of Distinction Awards and my family for nominating me. I also want to thank all the people who wrote letters of support.

I want to congratulate all the other nominees and all the volunteers who give countless hours of their time to make Thompson the great place it is.

I believe I'm speaking for all of us when I say, "We don't do it to be honoured. We do it because it needs to be done and we enjoy it."

We're all winners as we all benefit from the efforts of all volunteers.
