Drug busts in Thompson

Thompson RCMP drug section made two drug seizures, the first on March 22, and the second on April17.

On March 22 at approximately 6 a.m. as part of a continuing investigation, RCMP conducted a vehicle stop in Thompson.

A search of the vehicle revealed a quantity of marijuana, as well as cocaine packaging materials. A search of the driver of the vehicle also revealed approximately one ounce of cocaine on his person.

The driver, 19-year old Callum Stuart Lothian, has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of marijuana under 30 grams.

Lothian has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in provincial court May 18.

Thompson RCMP drug section, with the aid of the general investigation section, intercepted two ounces of cocaine at the Thompson Greyhound bust terminal on April 17 at approximately 7:30 a.m.

Investigators learned that the cocaine was destined for Split Lake, Manitoba and had an approximate street value of $7,000.

Adam James Connell, a 21-year old Split Lake resident, has been charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking and was scheduled to appear in Thompson provincial court April 19.
