Norman Tigers bring home silver from Stars Cup

The Norman Tigers, made up of the atom Thompson Tigers female hockey team and three players from The Pas Huskies female squad, travelled to Winnipeg to compete in the Stars Cup female hockey tournament, coached by Tyrone Sass with Travis Bloomer and Leroy Ladyka.

The Tigers started off the A1 Division 3 tournament with a 4-0 win over the Red River Flames, then tied their second game with the Brandon Yellowjackets 2-2 before dropping a 3-2 decision to the Southdale Stars, leaving them in second place heading into the playoffs. They met the Southdale Stars again in the hard-fought gold medal game that ended 4-3 in favour of the Stars, giving the Tigers the silver medal.
