Seventy skaters performed for family and fans as Skate Thompson capped off the 2011-12 skating season with their "Night at the Oscars" ice show at the C.A. Nesbitt Arena on March 20.

Skate Thompson held their annual ice show at the C.A. Nesbitt arena on March 20. Seventy skaters participated in this highly anticipated show! The cast included little ones just learning to skate and seasoned athletes given the spotlight to show their skills. With our theme "Night at the Oscars," skaters strutted their stuff to musical numbers from Happy Feet, Beauty and the Beast, Grease, Pirates of the Caribbean and many more!

Like any production, the many people behind the scenes made it possible. Our many volunteers and coaches should be commended for their time, hard work and persistence. They produced a great show for our skaters and many memories were made.

We would like to take this chance to thank our many sponsors for the show. 8 Points Center of Excellence, Arctic Signs, Assiniboine Credit Union, Domino's Pizza, Figure Skating Boutique, Huberdeau Coggan LLP, Minute Muffler & Brake, M. R. Plumbing, Multicrete Systems, Needle's Eye, Shaw Cable, TD Canada Trust, and Vale. Thanks for your generous support with our show this year!

Special thanks to David Boyce and the R. D. Parker Theatre program. Their help with lighting and props was invaluable to our show! We really appreciate all you did to help make our event a special one!

And last but not least, nothing happens at the arena without the help of the staff!! We cannot begin to express our appreciation!

See you next year!
