Thompson's Tween Ring Ravens won three of five games at ringette provincials March 23-25, losing 3-2 in overtime of the goal medal game to walk away with a silver medal.

Congratulations to the Thompson Tween Ring Ravens for earning a silver medal at their ringette provincials March 23-25.

This tournament was a first for some scoring a goal during tournaments play - congrats Hailey Best (2 G) and Kaya Gazan (1 G). The superb goaltending of Lorice Pilling earned her a shutout. The skills competition saw Brianna Horton winning fastest skater and Dakota Dorian-Evans winning agility. Way to go girls!

The girls played three games of round-robin play, losing the first game to Stonewall 5-2, with goals from Paige Krentz and Best. The win in game two against Beasejour saw a score of 8-0, with a hat trick from Horton, two goals from Savannah Szocs and one apiece from Dorian-Evans, Krentz and Victoria Hicks. The third game was against Red River. This was a nail-biter going back and forth, ending 6-5 in overtime for the Ring Ravesn, who got another hat trick from Horton and the other goals from Hicks, Kassandra Fayant and Raven Plamondon.

Placing second after the round robin, the Ring Ravens faced Beausejour in the bronze medal match with the winner advancing to the goal medal round. The girls were just as successful, winning 9-2 with six goals from Horton and one each from Gazan, Fayant and Hicks.

Although they lost 3-2 in overtime to Stonewall in the gold medal game, it was a great contest and an excellent effort by all. Horton and Best had the goals for Thompson in the final.

Job well done. You all deserved it.
