Thompson's atom AA King Miners were the only Thompson team to capture a trophy on the final day of the 42nd Munn Cup hockey tournament, defeating the Flin Flon Bombers 4-2 to capture the Lamontagne Cup, awarded to the thir-place team in the AA division.

The victory was the third in five games for the AA King Miners, who beat Flin Flon 9-4 and the Cross Lake Islanders 11-10 in the round robin, while losing 8-0 to The Pas Huskies and 6-3 to Dauphin.

The Munn Cup for first place in the AA division went to The Pas, who beat Dauphin 2-1 in the final game of the tournament.

The other King Miners went to a shootout in the battle for supremacy in the A division, but ultimately finished second to The Pas Huskies, who went into the record books as 3-2 winners of the Crockett Cup. The King Miners didn't go quietly however, scoring with three minutes left in the game to knot the score 2-2 after trailing by a goal for the previous 17 minutes.

The loss was only the second of the tournament for Thompson, which finished first in the round robin on the strength of a 4-1 win over The Pas, an 8-3 victory over Flin Flon and an 18-0 triumph against Cross Lake. Their only defeat was a 7-6 decision that went the Split Lake Eagles way.

The Eagles were winners of the Mintenko Cup, defeating Flin Flon 12-3 to finish third in the A division.

Warren went undefeated in to win the Timmons Cup as the B division champion, outscoring the Gillam Chargers 14-5 in the final.

OCN captured the McMunn & Yates Cup as the third-place team in the B division with a 6-3 win over Thompson's Subway Selects.

Thompson's Carroll Aviation Aeros had one win in the round robin, beating Rankin by a score of 4-1.
