E.T ... Call ... errr ... Winnipeg
As of Feb. 2, emergency calls to Thompson RCMP detachment through (204) 677-6911 were to be “routed directly to the RCMP's Operational Communications Centre (OCC) based in Winnipeg, Insp. John Duff, officer-in-charge of the detachment.

As of Feb. 2, emergency calls to Thompson RCMP detachment through (204) 677-6911 were to be “routed directly to the RCMP's Operational Communications Centre (OCC) based in Winnipeg, Insp. John Duff, officer-in-charge of the detachment, said Feb. 1.

“The emergency number (677-6911) remains the same,” Duff said. “Emergency calls during office hours were previously answered by staff members at the Thompson detachment and then sent electronically to the Operational Communications Centre for dispatch to on-shift members,” he added.

“Rerouting directly to OCC will enhance service and consistency in dispatching officers to calls,” Duff said. “This change will streamline the process, be more compatible with current records systems, align with the process in place in other jurisdictions in the province of Manitoba, and enhance in-person service at the detachment.”

For general inquiries, the public is still requested to contact the Thompson detachment administrative line at (204) 677-6909, he added.
