A 38-year-old man was medevaced to Winnipeg Jan. 19 after being stabbed multiple times inside a Princeton Towers apartment shortly before 4 a.m.

The victim was attacked after a disagreement with his assailant and the two persons are known to each other.

"Initial investigation indicates a 38-year-old male had been assaulted with a weapon during the night." said Cpl. Miles Hiebert, an RCMP media relations spokesman for "D" Division, which takes in all of Manitoba, in Winnipeg. "He was subsequently transported to hospital in Winnipeg with serious injuries," Hiebert said. The man was airlifted to hospital with life threatening injuries, but his status has since been upgraded to serious but stable condition.

"An 18-year-old woman has been arrested and remains in custody and is facing a number of charges including aggravated assault," said Hiebert.
