Spiritual Thoughts

Allowing God to change us from the inside out

We arrived in Thompson April 13 and my husband and I felt good to be in Thompson because not only would it be a time of ministry, but also a time to have some quality time with our sons and their families. A short time after our arrival we were the recipients of a beautiful basket of flowers and a much larger basket of household items. We do not know who the giver was, but whoever it was please accept our heartfelt thanks and appreciation.

I have been doing a Bible study with the ladies, meeting weekly, and have been using the book, Having A Mary Spirit by Joanna Weaver. The ladies have enjoyed it very much. It has made an impact on their spiritual walk with the Lord, and I have seen spiritual growth. I’m so glad that we have a Saviour who loves us just as we are, but loves us too much to leave us that way. After all, Christ’s main purpose is to return to us the glory of God we are meant to reflect in this world. As author Donna Partow puts it: “Our task here on Earth is to show the world an accurate reflection of what God is like. To show them, through our lives, who God is.” In other words, the whole purpose of our holy makeover is to make us more and more like Jesus. But that divine transformation only happens as we choose to have a Mary Spirit and accept the Lord’s rebuke even when it hurts.

Joanna Weaver’s writings bring out the stories of the biblical Mary (the mother of Jesus) and her sister

Martha; and Mary Magdalene, and others whose experience with God transformed their lives, Joanna shows how you can find what you long for hope, healing, wholeness, and joy. Having a Mary Spirit will launch you toward lasting personal transformation: soul -deep change that results in a complete makeover from the inside out.

It has been a wonderful personal journey.

On behalf of my husband and I, we want to say a special thank you for the opportunity to minister in Thompson. It has been a truly an enriching experience.

Thought for today:

One seed can start a garden,

one smile can lift a spirit,

One candle light a room,

one conversation can start a friendship.

One step can begin a journey,

one heart can love many….

One person can make all the difference

We can make a difference in people’s lives by sharing the Word.
