Eric Vickman won the Thompson Golf Club's men's open tournament for the second straight year June 27, shooting a tournament-best 72 in the first round and following it up with an 80 to finish with a 152 total, three strokes ahead of second-place finisher Farrol Asham.
Owen Nodrick was third in the championship flight, shooting a 75 and an 81 for a two-round total of 156. Fourth place went to Archie McLellan, who shot 81 and 78 for an aggregate of 159.
Earl Timmons was the first-flight champion with consecutive rounds of 82, beating second-place Dave Kobliski, who had an identical score, on a countback. Adam Muirhead (167) was third and Kenton Fayant (168) fourth.
The second flight was won by Wayne McLellan, who shot 85 in the first round and 83 in the second to beat runner-up Morgan Carroll by eight strokes. Bill Ritchat (174) and Leonard Linklater (175) finished third and fourth.
In the third flight, Bob Monuik won with a 174, followed by Bernie McLellan (174), Ed Azure (180) and Martin Vermette (181).
The fourth-flight winner was Brad Hanke (176), followed by Darrell Cater (178), Jeff Piercy (183) and Jim Richards (187).
The top four in the fifth flight were Kerry Freund, Merv McKay, Bill Sutherland and Wade McMurrich.
Don Ceppetelli won the sixth flight, with James Buchanan, Wayne Landers and Rick Oberdorfer the runners-up.
The seventh flight was won by Leo Landers, who finished ahead of Reg Chouinard, Brian Beauchemin and Kyle Jervis.
Gord Simes was the eighth-flight winner, followed by Barry Jackson, Trevor Lowe and Curtis Stamp.
In the ninth flight, it was Brent Sutherland finishing first with Lorne Spicer, Shanu Parsons and Tom Crawley second, third and fourth.
