The Big Three team of Alex Ryan, left, Kristian Dreolini, jumping, and Tim Pelland, second from right, were the champions of the 16- to 17-year-old open division at the Multicrete 3-on-3 basketball challenge June 19.

The Kul Ones were the winners of the 18-and-up open division at the Multicrete 3-on-3 basketball challenge June 19 during Nickel Days, getting past the Laker's Buddy team of Sunny Gandhi, Jordan Todd and Jordan Merasty in the final.

The Big Three - Alex Ryan, Kristian Dreolini and Tim Pelland - were the champions in the 16- to 17-year-old open division, with Miles' Boys, consisting of Edward Miles, Johnny Miles and Jermaine Anderson were the runners-up.

Full House, made up of Arnav Sud, Avery Darechuk, Abhinav Sud, Atinder Sidhu and Dexter Baker, claimed the crown in the 14- to 15-year-old open division, getting past Peanut Butter Oreo, which included Jesse Aarinola, Tevin Wong and Francis Baffoe. Last Place - Jesse Thompson, Dominic Kesteris, Glenn Pronteau and Dakota Moose - finished third.

Below Zero Tall, comprising Kaitlyn Fennell and Brianna Bourgoignon, was the 8- to 11-year-old champion, defeating Below Zero Short, which included Adrianna Pruoux and Jenna Dillman. The Wolverines - Anthony Flett, Cameron Flett and Trenton Bloomfield - finished third.

"Honourable mention goes to the two women's teams that participated in the open division since there were not enough teams registered," said tournament organizer Sara Gillis.

The two teams were Balls Deep, with Allison Correia, Simrit Deol, Jennifer Robson and Ruth Spence on the roster, and the Old Ladies, which included Chantel Gaslard, Erica Lowe and Aly Majeran.

"Thanks to the three teams that came from out of town," said Gillis. "Big thanks to Multicrete for sponsoring the event in support of Trojans basketball."
