To the Editor:
Brian Wilson was a man of integrity, compassion and faith. He shall have “C” for Courage, “D” for Determination and “E” for Effort. His tireless energy, in whatever he was doing, was outstanding. He never took any credit for his work. He would say, “It is part of the job, I like doing it.”
During Brian’s working life with the school system in Thompson, students’ education, wellbeing and advancement was his utmost goal. R.D. Parker graduations were great moments for him. There are former Thompson students right across this country that he remembered. He gave them valuable gifts to take along into their future.
Brian’s involvement in the Thompson Playhouse was a hit right from the word go! From Brigadoon to one of the ugly sisters, Brian was only the best. That was only a few, but there were many more.
Brian had a special gift when it came to dealing with people. He had an air of a somewhat stubborn British diplomat, which seemed to be a shield and great help for him. He did not lose too many arguments!
It was a learning experience for me to work with him during the nine years I served on the Mystery Lake School Board. After retirement he undertook the project of refurbishing the Letkeman Theatre. His effort and energy to raise funds from all over was just great.
It would be great to have more people of his calibre among us. Brian’s family can only be proud of him. May his gifts to us all not be forgotten.
