Thompson senior citizen outraged at both lack of policing and bylaw enforcement in city

To the Editor:

The other day I had gone to the Bank of Nova Scotia to use the machine and it was disgusting. There were bottles, coffee cups and sunflower seeds all over the place.

A few days later I went again and there were six bodies stretched out on the floor where the machines are inside. I didn’t go in when I saw that but I phoned the bylaw office and the police and no one answered at either place. I am a concerned citizen and have lived here for a long time, and I have never seen it this bad. I walk all the time and I am a senior citizen.

What do we pay the RCMP and bylaw officers for? It’s not for the people, that’s for sure. They sure don’t help us to be safe when you see this. I walk all the time everywhere I go and I have yet to see an RCMP or bylaw officer. What do they do and what do we pay them for? To sit on their butts and get fat, or are they going to wait until somebody gets hurt again?
