Beer & Skits: ‘Mostly’ an evening of fun, writer says

To the Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for a fun Beer & Skits. This is the third year that the Thompson Playhouse has revived this fun evening, an evening where people have fun making fun. Congratulations to the councillors for their third win in a row! And a great job to the BRHA, Crime Stoppers, A Port In The Storm, and the Thompson Playhouse for their well written skits.

Another great part of the evening was the music provided by the jazz music students from R.D. Parker Collegiate. Kudos to Becky Pritchard, Nicole Saindon, Stevie MacPherson, Melissa Kelly, Travis Wilson, Daniel Palmer, Natalie Pegus, Dana Waldie and their band director Kevin Lewis. Good music, good times!

A huge thank you to the Juniper Centre, and to Music Makers for their contributions to making it a successful evening. To all the business that donated prizes, once again Thompson cares. Most of all, thank you to those that purchased a ticket, the sold-out audience makes it all worthwhile.

I think it is healthy to have fun and to sometimes make light of ourselves. I believe laughter is an important part of our lives. To have an evening where having fun, making fun of ourselves, is important. I think the evening of Beer & Skits was mostly that. Thank you Donna Wilson and the Thompson Playhouse for a job well done.
