Senior Trojans fourth at Swan Valley

R.D. Parker Collegiate's senior boys basketball team finished fourth at the Swan Valley Kinsmen Tip-Off basketball tournament Feb. 12-13 in Swan River, losing 94-86 in overtime to host team Swan Valley in the third-place game.

"I was happy with our play during the tournament," said head coach Jonathan Wamboldt, but failure to keep possession of the ball cost them in the game against Swan Valley. "In the last two minutes, we turned over the ball a few times to let them back in the game. After practising hard all week, I am confident we solved that problem."

The Trojans opened the Swan Valley tournament with a 92-45 victory over Dauphin, then lost 95-76 to Neelin before moving on to the third-place game.

RDPC's Jordan Merasty was named to the tournament all-star team.

The squad returned to action last weekend in Dauphin, once again facing Swan Valley, Neelin and Dauphin.
