The Northstars' three top-scoring forwards were chosen for the squad, with captain Quentin Holmes, Roger Tagoona and Cody Zulyniak representing the east. The other Norman all-star is defenceman Lorne Leslie.
Holmes is the Northstars' top point-getter, with 18 goals and 21 assists for 39 points in 30 games, while Tagoona is the top goalscorer on the squad, with 21 goals to go along with 11 assists for 32 points through 31 games. Zulyniak, who led the team in goals last season, had 15 goals and 15 assists through 31 games this season.
Leslie is a stay-at-home defenceman with two goals and six assists through 29 games as well as a team-leading 113 penalty minutes.
The Northstars and the Eastman Selects are tied for the second-most players on the East Division team with four each, while the Winnipeg Wild have five.
The league's 22nd-annual all-star game goes Jan. 17 at 2 p.m. in Brandon. Immediately following the game, the all-star banquet, featuring the American Hockey League's Manitoba Moose general manager Craig Heisinger as guest speaker, will be held.
Paul Krueger of the East Division-leading Winnipeg Wild will coach the eastern all-star squad, while the western squad will have Brad Wells of the Brandon Wheat Kings, the top West Division team, behind the bench.
