McKay assists in stunning overtime comeback

Wabowden's Kajon McKay had a big impact in his Oct. 22 return to the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League, assisting on three goals as the Terriers came from behind to beat the Winkler Flyers 4-3 in overtime, with Shaq Merasty scoring the game-winner on a power play in the extra frame.

McKay, a one-time Norman Northstar, had played only two games this season before going out with an upper-body injury.

Winkler led with 2:15 left in the third period before Portage scored three times to force overtime.

Elsewhere in the MJHL, the list rights of 18-year-old goaltender Caden Unger were traded from the Winnipeg South Blues to the Swan Valley Stampeders for the rights to 19-year-old Kyle Stephansson, who was a Manitoba AAA Midget Hockey League all-star in the 2007-2008 season, when he played for the Norman Northstars.
